Fabrics for Girls and Boys

If i was to make these designs i would mainly be using %100 cotton fabrics that are %100 fire proof.

For my boys wear designs i wanted it to have a laid back feel to it! I wanted it to have a skateboarding feel to it. The colour ways are quite simple but bright.

Designs

I have been asked to produce two final designs, one for boys wear and one for girls wear plus three variations of each final designs. Here is my final design for girls wear and the three variations. My main inspiration came from the colour ways of 'Faded Glory', i really liked the concept of the mood board and how it was quite simplistic. From the mood board, i choose to do three designs with the same concept...

I then used these designs to create my final design...

Mood-board For Girls Wear

This is a mood board of all my chosen influences and inspirations for girls wear. I wanted my mood board to show children playing and doing what children are supposed to be doing. For my girls designs, i wanted them to be playful and fun but with a cute girly feel.  

Right or wrong??

I couldn't help feeling unsettled when i saw the following images. Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau is the girl in the images below. These images are just a few from a vogue issue that was based on a reinterpretation of girls playing dress-up with make-up and heels, only without the playfulness. She is just 10 years old, and i can understand why these images caused so much controversy. Do these photos suggest the presence of an adult viewer or regard her as having an adults sexuality?

Whilst researching i have found out quite a lot about children's wear, and issues surrounding children and the media. I came across this website and thought it had a similar philosophy to SizeSmall. I really like the children wear on this particular website.
